Tuesday 2nd June

Distance - ?? miles    Time - 25.00mins

I have no idea how far I ran this morning. It was beautiful and sunny so I headed along the cycle path and ran into Farleigh Green and then back.
The aim was to do a gentle 20 minutes and I ended up doing 25 mins.

Thursday 4th June

Distance - 2.0 miles    Time - 20.42mins

I drove along the main road yesterday to work out a 1 mile stretch so I can run and know my pace.
I decided to do 2 miles this morning. 1 mile out and then straight back.

I am chuffed to have done it in 20 mins but it was a hard slog. I was huffing and puffing like a smoker on the final part.
13 miles in 4 months time seems like a huge mountain right now.

Saturday 6th June

Distance - 1.0 miles    Time - 11.17mins

I made a shrewd investment yesterday via eBay - a Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS & Heart Rate monitor watch!! It arrived in the post this morning so I had to try it!!

I just did 1 mile from the house and back. The watch gives so much data it's hard to know which bit to have on the display!!

I'm really pleased and this will help keep me spurred on.

Sunday 7th June

Distance - 2.0 miles    Time - 21.25mins

I did the same run as Thursday but kept to a steadier pace. The Forerunner 305, using the GPs, tells you the exact distance travelled so I knew when 1 mile was done. It was actually just a few paces further than measured in my car the other day.

It felt much tougher today and was slightly windy and cold. But couldn't wait to get home to upload the data onto my PC. It's great; it's got graphs showing all sorts of data!! :-)

I've downloaded a training program from which I am now following. Week 2 here I come!
