My Cardiff Half Marathon Training Diary - June - October 2009

WEEK 6

Tuesday 7th July

It's not been a great start to this week. After pulling up in my run last Sunday I went to see my Sports Physio and he's told me not to run for a week.
I was very lucky not to tear my muscles and tendons in my left leg just below my calf muscle.

I'm absolutley gutted! He told me I should never have done the Fartlek session. I'm not ready and it's only been 5 weeks since I began my
running training. It was too much too soon.

He's agreed to workout a plan for me so I can follow it and get back on track.

I will be doing a very easy bike session on Saturday just to see how my legs are and if all being well, I'll be back running in Week 7.
 
 
 

Saturday 11th July

Distance - 6.45miles    Time - 30.00mins    Bike (on Turbo Trainer)

It was good to exercise again and this was just a gentle session on my bike.

My HR was never over 130 and my legs felt great.
